SOFF – CUTTING

Soff-Cut® tech

Is a unique patented system for early entry concrete sawing. This technology enables concrete to be cut within the first one or two hours of finishing and before final set. TechniCON provides the best solution for minimizing the risk of random cracking, and it simplifies the working process, compared to conventional sawing.
Husqvarna Soff-Cut® is a system developed for Ultra Early EntryTM sawing of contraction joints after pouring concrete slabs. It’s the optimal solution for minimizing the risk of random cracking, which is one of the most costly and aggravating problems faced by a concrete contractor. The main benefits are the high production rates combined with the opportunity to pour and cut the same day. And the straight, shallow cuts with sharp edges guarantee a good-looking result.
Concrete cutters can be gasoline or electric and cutting discs can be abrasive or diamond. Currently two types of cuts are mainly used: conventional wet cutting and early dry cutting. The early dry cutting process is used when the formation of joints is desired at an early age. The joints are formed using diamond-impregnated discs. The cut obtained in this process,is not as deep as the cut obtained in the conventional process, a maximum depth of 32 mm (1 1/4 ) is obtained. However, early entry allows joints to form before significant stress efforts develop in concrete, thus increasing the possibility of the crack forming in the joint, when sufficient efforts are made. Care should be taken that the cut is not interrupted when passing over a thick or hard aggregate.
